Partridge Caddis Emerger

spacer Partridge Caddis Emerger
Tying Instructions
Materials:
  • Hook: TMC 2487 #12-18
  • Thread: Olive 6/0
  • Abdomen: Olive Hare-tron
  • Downwing/wingpost: Olive dyed partridge. Butt of feather becomes wingpost
  • Hackle: Olive Grizzly Hackle, Parachute style
  • Thorax: Olive Hare-Tron

Notes: This is a generic emerger pattern designed by Hans Weilenmann of Netherlands. The pattern uses the same feather or hackle for both the downwing and the wingpost. The parachute hackle supports the fly within the surface film while the rest of the abdomen lies vertically downward. The pattern works best on slow moving waters. Hans has an excellent web site for fly tiers. See: Han's Website
