Tying Instructions: Miracle Midge

1. Atttach the thread to the hook behind the eye with a jam knot.
Step One
2. Place the fine copper or silver wire on top of the hook shank and secure with thread wraps.
Step Two
3. Wrap the shank, with the wire on top of the hook shank, to the midpoint of the hook curve. Don't get too far down the hook curve as you want to keep the hook gap as large as possible.
Step Three
4. Wrap the thread back towards the eye and attach a piece of white floss behind the eye.
Step Four
5.Secure the white floss with thread wraps back to the bend of the hook.
Step Five
6. Wrap the thread forward with even wraps covering all of the material and hook to just behind the eye.
Step Six
7. Wrap the floss forward, covering all of the underbody, to the eye of the hook and secure with thread wraps.
Step Seven
8. Wrap the ribbing forward with 5-6 evenly spaced wraps and secure with thread wraps behind the eye.
Step Eight
9. Trim off the tag end of the wire and secure the end with additional thread wraps. Create a thread head the extends from behind the eye to about 1 eyewidth behind the eye. Whip Finish and apply a head cement.
